CARLTON is likely to be without Harry McKay this weekend, but Sam Walsh is expected to be available for selection.
Both players came from the ground in the last quarter of Saturday’s clash with Gold Coast, with McKay landing heavily on his shoulder before Walsh rolled his ankle in the closing seconds.
Director of High Performance Andrew Russell said the expectation was Walsh would be right to go for this weekend’s game with Port Adelaide.
However, he conceded that Coleman Medal leader McKay would probably miss the Round 22 encounter.
“‘Walshy’ rolled his ankle really late in the game. We weren’t too concerned once we saw him, he settled down well,” Russell said.
“Scans were good and we expect him to play this week,
“Harry had a big hit to that AC joint as we saw when he hit the ground. He has pulled up pretty sore.
“We’ve done some scans and he’s highly unlikely to play this weekend at this stage.”
Zac Williams is expected to return from a hamstring injury in Round 23, while Will Setterfield is a test for selection after returning to training after groin soreness.
