Carlton acquired Sam Durdin with pick No.13 in the 2022 NAB AFL Mid-Season Rookie Draft, with the former North Melbourne defender showing his intercept and contested marking ability in the SANFL.
Standing at 199 centimetres, Durdin played 22 games in the royal blue and white after being selected by the Roos with a first-round selection back in the 2014 NAB AFL Draft.
Durdin struggled with injury in 2023, unable to get consistent game-time under his belt and despite a hot start in the VFL, a hamstring injury hampered his progress.
The defender was active in mentoring the backline in the AFL and AFLW during his time on the sidelines and signed a one-year contract extension for 2024.
