2020 was the year that Tom Williamson needed, while 2021 will hopefully be the year the long-kicking defender stamps himself on the competition. After a back issue ultimately wiped out his second and third seasons at the level, Williamson got his chance last year, playing 15 games predominantly across half back. After his first full pre-season and feeling as fit as he ever has, Williamson has earmarked a greater impact at senior level: there’s every chance he spends more time on the wing, after an impressive final round showing against the Brisbane Lions in the role.
