The running man Adam Saad made the all-too-rare swap of Essendon to Carlton over the 2020 Trade Period. Deciding that he wanted to play his football in Navy Blue, the star defender arrived at Ikon Park all guns blazing, hitting the track early and getting to work with his new teammates. Having emerged as one of the competition’s premier defenders in recent seasons, Saad’s football journey has now come full circle, after growing up an Adam Saad-run away from Ikon Park and playing his VFL football just down Sydney Road at Coburg before his AFL story began.
