A courageous defender from the Dandenong Stingrays, Brooke Vernon officially became a Carlton player when she was selected with pick No.26 in the 2019 NAB AFL Women’s Draft. Formerly a forward, Vernon relished a new role down back in 2019, performing a role on taller or smaller opponents with aplomb. Working hard over the COVID lockdown in 2020, Vernon made it a priority to work on her game while she had the time, coming in hot to the 2021 pre-season. Vernon started her 2021 strong, providing very impressive performances in the first two rounds before unfortunately missing the remainder of the season through injury.
