THREE key Blues have been duly acknowledged for their stellar individual campaigns in season 2021.

Named in the 40-person All Australian squad, Harry McKay, Sam Walsh and Jacob Weitering complete the Navy Blue trifecta.

Despite effectively missing four games of football this season, McKay was the most-prolific goalkicker in the competition this year, on the way to officially winning the Coleman Medal when the season concluded on Sunday night.

Kicking 58 goals for the campaign, McKay also ranked No.1 in the competition for marks inside 50 and contested marks.

After emerging as one of the brightest youngsters in the competition in his first two seasons, Walsh’s third year was where he stamped himself among the game’s elite midfielders.

Averaging just shy of 30 disposals per game, the running machine was just as capable making an impact as an inside or outside midfielder. He ranked in the top 10 in the competition for disposals, while ranking elite for uncontested possessions, score involvements and pressure acts.

For the second consecutive season, Weitering has made the 40-man squad and is looking to go one better with a first All-Australian blazer this time around.

Getting his job done each and every week, the reigning 2020 John Nicholls Medallist was as strong as ever in the one-on-one contest against the most-damaging opposition forward.

He also added an offensive string to his bow this season, ranked elite among key defenders for rebound 50s and metres gained to go with his eight spoils a game.

It marks the first time in a decade that the Blues have had at least three players in the squad of 40, after Eddie Betts, Chris Judd, Marc Murphy and Heath Scotland were included in 2011.

Should all three make the final team, it'll be the first time Carlton has had at least three players in the final All-Australian team since 2000, when the Blues had five — Scott Camporeale, Anthony Koutoufides, Andrew McKay, Brett Ratten and Lance Whitnall.

The final team will be announced at a later date.
