THE CARLTON Football Club can confirm that assistant coach Brent Stanton has departed IKON Park, after being informed his contract would not be renewed beyond the 2021 AFL season.

Stanton joined the Club he grew up supporting at the end of 2017, originally as a development coach, before taking charge of the midfield and ball transition.

“We have been quite open in our ongoing conversations with Brent and today we were able to finalise that decision,” Blues Head of Football Brad Lloyd said.

“These decisions are never easy, especially when it involves someone who is so genuine in his commitment and care for the Carlton Football Club.

“Brent has also worked tirelessly with our midfield group for the last four seasons, both as a development and assistant coach, giving those players every opportunity to now take ownership of their careers and take themselves to the next level.

“Brent departs the Club having dedicated enormous time and energy to making us a better football club, much of which happened without public recognition but was no doubt appreciated by everyone within our four walls.”
