It’ll take place on the traditional Thursday night between the teams, although the Grand Final rematch between Melbourne and the Western Bulldogs will officially kick the season off the night before.

It’ll be Carlton’s first AFL game under Michael Voss, as well as potentially the first chance to see the five new Blues in action for their debuts.

Taking place in front of a home crowd, it will be the first time the Blues have hosted the Round 1 fixture since 2019: Sam Walsh’s first game for Carlton.
