FOR THE second week in a row, Patrick Cripps has polled another 10 AFLCA votes for his performance against the Western Bulldogs.

In another dominant game, the skipper gathered 23 contested possessions, 12 score involvements and 11 clearances, as well as slotting two handy goals.

Cripps now sits atop the AFLCA leaderboard tied with Christian Petracca following two perfect performances, sitting four votes ahead of Andrew Brayshaw in third.

It wasn't just the captain bringing people to their feet at Marvel Stadium on Thursday night, with the performances of a key forward pairing another highlight for fans: the duo of Harry McKay and Charlie Curnow in the forward line.

Both forwards polled six votes, with Curnow kicking a game-high five goals and McKay slotting four to go with his 12 marks (five contested).

It was a sight that fans have been longing for, with the two tall forwards providing imposing targets in attack and finishing their work in front of goal with a combined 9.1.

George Hewett was another Blue who polled votes for the second week in a row, adding another four votes to match his tally from Round 1.

Amassing 32 disposals, 18 contested possessions and seven clearances, Hewett was again influential in the middle, crucial in gaining the Blues field position while also going head to head with the likes of Marcus Bontempelli throughout the contest.

He was joined in the votes by Walsh, with the returning John Nicholls Medallist picking up two votes of his own in his first match of the season.

Acquiring 32 disposals, seven score involvements and five clearances, Walsh was a welcome addition to the Carlton line-up, and will only get better after getting through unscathed in his return from ankle surgery.
