THE CARLTON Football Club can confirm midfielder Courtney Jones was traded to the Gold Coast Suns for national selection pick No.49 (Victorian pick No.26) in the 2022 NAB AFL Women’s Draft.

Jones spent three seasons at IKON Park, playing nine games over that time, after being selected with Pick 59 in the 2018 NAB AFL Women’s Draft.

All of those appearances came in the most recent Season 6.

Carlton General Manager of Women’s Football Brett Munro says it is unfortunate to part ways with Jones.

“Courtney forced her way into the senior team this year, so it is disappointing to see her leave after putting so much time and effort into her development during her three years at Carlton,” Munro said.

“In saying that, we understand her reasons for wanting to explore a move to an interstate club and wish her the best in those endeavours.”
