THE CARLTON Football Club has secured the services of Paige Trudgeon, Abbie McKay, Jess Good and Maddy Guerin for the upcoming AFLW season and beyond.

Trudgeon played all 10 games last season as part of a strong backline outfit, ultimately being named Carlton’s Rookie of the Year for Season 6.

She had a career-high 19 disposals in her fourth game against North Melbourne and was equal-fourth in the Club’s Best and Fairest awards.

McKay also featured in all 10 games of Season 6 and continued to improve on her stellar 2021 campaign.

She kicked her first goal for the Game Changers in Round 1 against Collingwood and had a career-high 18 disposals against Adelaide and laid 8 tackles in the final game of the season against Melbourne.

Good had an impressive debut season and quickly secured her spot in the side, winning a career-high 18 hit-outs against Adelaide in Round 5.

The 27-year-old supported Breann Moody in the ruck and also found her opportunities in the forward line, kicking four goals last season.

Guerin forced her way into the side in the second half of last season and finished with a career-best performance against eventual Grand Finalists Melbourne in the final game of the home and away season, collecting 19 disposals and laying 12 tackles.

All four players have committed to the Game Changers after strong showings last season.

Guerin has signed a one-season extension while Trudgeon, Good and McKay have re-committed for two seasons.

Carlton General Manager of Women’s Football Brett Munro says these signings will ensure depth in the side right across the ground.

“It is pleasing to have Paige, Abbie, Jess and Maddy all choose to stay with the Game Changers after receiving interest from other clubs,” Munro said.

“We have invested a lot of time into developing these players and the results of that development were on show last season.

“With the next season approaching quickly, these players can continue to build on the progress they made last season with the full support of the program behind them.”
