The AFLW season opener will return to IKON Park in season seven, with Carlton set to face off against old enemy Collingwood under new lights on Thursday 25 August.

Fans are encouraged to get down early, with Melbourne-born singer-songwriter Gretta Ray to kick-off the evening’s pre-match entertainment from 6.30pm.

Gretta’s musical ascent gained rapid momentum when the then 17-year-old was crowned the Triple J Unearthed High winner in 2016 – her final year of high school.

Since then, she has been awarded the prestigious Vanda & Young Songwriting Award for her hit, Drive, while her two EPs, Elsewhere (2016) and Here and Now (2018) have earned her slots at Falls Festival and Splendour in the Grass, as well as her first shows in the UK and USA opening for Mumford & Sons, Gang of Youths, Lianne La Havas and James Bay.

Gretta’s latest full-length release, the 2021 coming-of-age record, Begin To Look Around, was nominated for ARIA’s ‘Breakthrough Artist’ as well as ‘Australian Album of the Year’ at the J Awards of 2021.

Tickets to the season opener are available now and can be purchased here.
