THE Carlton Football Club has made three changes to the Club’s AFLW playing list with Poppy Schaap, Charlotte Hammans and Jessica Jones informed they will not be offered contracts for season eight.

Schaap leaves the Blues after two seasons and three games, after being signed during the 2022 Supplementary Selection Period.

The 19-year-old forward played the final two rounds of season seven where she kicked three goals.

Hammans joined Carlton in 2021 after originally being signed by the Gold Coast Suns in 2020 and played five games for the Club over three seasons, mostly in the forward line.

Jones was taken as the Club’s final pick in the 2022 NAB AFL Women’s Draft from North Melbourne’s VFLW side but did not make a senior appearance.

Carlton General Manager of Women’s Football Brett Munro thanked all three players for their contributions to the Club.

“These players have made a positive impact at the Club during their time here and we thank them for their diligence to the program,” Munro said.

“Poppy has an impeccable work ethic and was ready whenever called upon, Charlotte continued to work on her development and hone her craft, and although Jessica didn’t debut, she showed great enthusiasm during her time with us.

“While it is disappointing that we can no longer accommodate Poppy, Charlotte and Jess, we wish them nothing but the best in their future endeavours.”
