FIVE Blues have taken home AFLCA votes for their Round 2 performance.

Topping the table is Charlie Curnow, who tied with Jeremy Cameron on nine votes.

Curnow’s game was electric at the ‘G, slotting five goals in an athletic and energising performance.

Adding nine marks and and nine score involvements, Curnow’s work in the forward line extended beyond his work on the scoreboard, helping his teammates create opportunities in front of goal.

Adam Saad secured six votes from the coaches, with the defender putting on an authoritative performance across half back.

Saad’s penetrating kick (accented by the ‘woof’ from the Carlton crowd) was pivotal for the Blues’ ball movement, with Saad delivering a game-high 608 metres through his 29 disposals.

As well as moving the ball forward, Saad stopped it from heading back, totalling 10 intercept possessions to round out a comprehensive performance.

The Curnow name appeared twice in the votes, with brother Ed picking up two votes.

Ed has slotted seamlessly back into the Carlton lineup, and played a very important role in the subduing of Geelong midfielder Cam Guthrie.

Contributing 12 contested possessions, eight tackles and a goal, it was a physical showing for the older Curnow.

At the other end of the ground, Jacob Weitering was rewarded with two votes as the 25-year-old put in another solid performance with eight marks and seven intercept possessions.

Rounding out the votes was Blake Acres, who collected one vote in his first Navy-Blue win.

The winger picked up 26 disposals in an impressive outing, where his 11 marks took place at both ends of the ground.
