Dynamic small forward Ned Cahill has re-signed with the Blues for 2024.

Before joining Carlton Reserves in 2022, Cahill played six senior games across his two seasons with Essendon.

The 22-year-old established himself in the side as an impressive small forward. Kicking 29 and 28 goals in the last two seasons, Cahill led the team’s goalkicking in 2023 alongside ex-teammate Ben Ronke.

Impressing this season, Cahill earnt his third-place finish in the Club’s 2023 VFL Best and Fairest. His best was on full display in the Round 5 match against Sandringham where he kicked four goals and collected 21 disposals.

Carlton VFL Coach Luke Power said he is an energetic forward and injects excitement into the team.

“Ned has been a reliable player for us up forward this season and we have been impressed with what he has been able to achieve at his time here at the Blues. To kick 28 goals in 17 matches was a great return, plus what he was able to provide for the team with his pressure,” Power said.

“At just 22 years of age it has been great to see the mature way in which Ned has upheld himself through the season and to watch his dedication to improving his craft each week.

“We are very pleased that Ned has chosen to continue his time with the Carlton Reserves and look forward to watch him continue to develop his craft.”
