BILLY Wilson will stay in the Navy Blue until at least the end of 2026 after signing a contract extension with Carlton.

Arriving at the Blues during the 2023 draft with pick No.34, Wilson is a reliable player, enjoying a strong season with the Carlton Reserves while achieving his AFL dream in the process.

Known for his blistering pace and ball use coming out of the back half, Wilson has developed his game over the course of 2025, with his consistency at VFL level ultimately earning him status as Carlton senior player No.1249.

Accumulating over 20 disposals in his last 10 consecutive VFL games, Wilson’s 15 VFL games have been in addition to his two senior matches, making his debut against Port Adelaide in Round 16 while returning for the Gold Coast clash in Round 22.

The 20-year-old has continued to absorb anything he can from fellow defender and past All-Australian Adam Saad, who has been instrumental in his growth.

Wilson joins five other teammates in Lachie Cowan, Matt Carroll, Harry O’Farrell, Nic Newman, and his housemate Ashton Moir in committing to remain at IKON Park in recent weeks.

Head of List Management Nick Austin said Wilson is a player you can trust to grit his teeth and play his role selflessly.

“Billy is a trustworthy player and a damaging user of the football. His flair and dash off the half-back line, combined with his ability to rebound and overlap, is an impressive trait,” Austin said.

“Since arriving at Carlton, he has put in a big shift on the track and in the gym. We have been impressed with the work he has done to build up his body and the development he has shown.

“Billy is a really exciting young talent, and we can’t wait to see what he can do in the Navy Blue having re-committed for another season.”
