Carlton has announced its fifth AFLW debutant in six weeks, with Lou-Lou Field set to play against North Melbourne this Saturday.
Drafted at pick No.46 in last year’s draft, Field’s seamless ability to read the play and shut down opponents across the backline has earnt her a spot in the side for this weekend’s clash.
Field - a classy rebounding player with natural leadership qualities - has been a positive asset in the VFLW, turning heads specifically in Round 12 when she banked 18 disposals and five tackles in against the Western Bulldogs.
At the time of Field being drafted to Carlton, Head of AFLW Ash Naulty was full of praise for the young defender’s work rate and natural football ability.
“A prolific defender, Lou-Lou has really impressive intercept ability, but what stands out most is her football IQ and her understanding of the game. She’s played footy ever since a young age and some of the traits she has are hard to teach.”
She etches her name in Navy Blue next to Maddison Torpey, Siofra O’Connell, Aisling Reidy, Poppy Scholz, and Sophie McKay as 2025 Carlton debutants.
