After three weeks on the sidelines, Carlton AFLW captain Abbie McKay returned from a hamstring injury with some of her best football, earning herself 10 coaches votes against Geelong on Sunday.

McKay was one of six Blues who polled votes in the Blues' gritty 18-point win at GMHBA Stadium.

The dangerous midfielder picked up where she left off, producing a stellar 31 disposals, seven clearances and three tackles, propelling her side into the top four.

"There were so many people playing their role. Lily Goss did a wonderful job ... I always say I can't do my job without her," McKay told Carlton Media.

"I have to say thanks to the other mids for freeing me up and letting me play like that."

With the help of star midfielder Mimi Hill, the pair banked 61 disposals combined - Hill with 30 disposals, three clearances and a goal and eight coaches votes of her own.

Irish recruit Erone Fitzpatrick (six votes) had a career high of 24 disposals, as well as impacting the scoreboard when it mattered with two goals to her name.

Both Dayna Finn and Amelia Velardo took two coaches' votes. Velardo starred down back with a career high of 19 disposals and took four marks, while Finn banked 26 disposals and six marks.

Lily Goss played a vital role on Sunday, polling one vote for her huge efforts on midfielder Georgie Prespakis.
