A LENGTHY conversation with Michael Voss following the 2025 season was the first step to Travis Boak arriving at IKON Park.

Announced on Tuesday that the Port Adelaide great will take on a leadership, culture and performance position at the Blues, Boak took the time to send a message to Carlton fans to detail what he’s hoping to bring to the role.

With Boak and Voss sharing a strong relationship from their shared time at Alberton, Boak spoke on how the role came about, and what his expectations are leading into the 2026 campaign.

“When the season finished this year, I caught up with ‘Vossy’ pretty quickly and we had a great discussion, sitting in a cafe for a couple of hours and talked about some of the stuff I could help with at the Club in terms of the leadership, culture and performance space,” Boak said.

“I’ll be working pretty closely with the leadership group, the playing group and the connection between the coaches and the playing group, plus also a game-day role as well.

“I’m really excited to help out the footy club as much as I can, I’m not there just to do a job - I want to come over, make an impact and help the Carlton Footy Club get back to the powerhouse they are.”

It’ll be a happy homecoming of sorts for the former Port Adelaide captain and dual best and fairest winner, as a Bluebagger growing up before becoming one of the Power’s all-time very best.

“I’m really keen to get over there, I was a massive Carlton as a kid so I’m pumped to be on board and looking forward to meeting you all.

“Hopefully I can have a good impact and we can win some games… so you guys can enjoy some exciting footy, so the boys can enjoy playing some exciting footy and we can have some success.

“Let’s go ‘Baggers.”
