Carlton AFLW Senior Assistant coach Glenn Strachan has informed the Club he will be departing IKON Park to pursue an AFLW Senior Coach opportunity at another club.
Joining the Blues in 2023 following his role as Head of Sport at Doncaster Secondary College, Strachan quickly established himself as a highly respected member of the football program among both players and staff.
“I can’t thank Carlton enough for their support over the past few years. The Club has invested a lot into my development as a coach," Strachan said.
“I am especially thankful for Mathew Buck [Carlton AFLW Senior Coach] and the close relationship that we have developed over the years. I have learnt an immense amount from his guidance and will forever be thankful for the support he has shown me.
“My time at Carlton has been such a special experience and one that I will always look back on fondly.”
Prior to his tenure as AFLW Senior Assistant Coach and VFLW Senior Coach, Strachan played in the Carlton reserves from 2015 to 2020 including two seasons as vice-captain.
Head of AFLW Ash Naulty said we would like to thank Glenn for his contribution to the AFLW program.
“Glenn has been a great asset to our Club the past few years and his development as a coach has been really rewarding to see," Naulty said.
“Although bittersweet for our Club, it is a very well deserved and exciting opportunity for Glenn and his family and we wish him nothing but the best in his new role."
