THE BEST player on the ground in tomorrow night’s clash between Carlton and Collingwood will be awarded the Richard Pratt Medal.

Keeping with the tradition of the winning team taking home the Peter Mac Cup, the longest-running charity match will see the standout performer be awarded with the medal named after the late former Carlton player, committeeman, major donor and President.

The Blues and Pies honoured Pratt in 2009, who passed away earlier in that year following a battle with prostate cancer. The medal itself has been awarded in Carlton-Collingwood games since 2012, with the first medal won by Andrew Carrazzo.

Rivals on the field, Carlton and Collingwood’s unity off the field in the fight against cancer serves as a reminder of the importance of early diagnosis, with the game dedicated to donations for cancer research.

Thanks to the Pratt Foundation, every dollar donated on Thursday night will be matched with a donation of the same amount, up to a total of $100,000. We encourage everyone to give generously for this incredible cause.
