The Carlton Football Club has today unveiled its ANZAC guernsey, honouring Carlton players known to have served their country.

The players will proudly wear the guernsey in their ANZAC day match against Fremantle this Saturday at Optus Stadium.

The names of those who served predominantly across WWI, WWII, the Boer War and the Vietnam War are displayed on the back of the guernsey, while the ANZAC emblem is displayed with honour on the front.

Names marked with a cross signify those who bravely lost their lives in service.

Daryl Christie and Celine Moody, whose names appear on the guernsey, are Carlton’s only known living service personnel, with Christie recognised as the Blues’ sole Vietnam War veteran and Moody the Club’s only AFLW player to have served.

The Club recognises the profound privilege of wearing the ANZAC guernsey, and the opportunity it provides to pause, remember and reflect on the brave service of these Carlton people.

Carlton’s match-worn and player-issued guernseys will be available via auction, with a portion of proceeds going towards the RSL Victoria’s ANZAC Appeal, supporting veterans and their families.

The auction will be live from 6pm tonight via the Carlton Shop Auctions website.
