CARLTON delivered one of its most complete performances of the season on Saturday afternoon, powering past the Casey Demons by 122 points in a dominant Round 7 display.
After an even first term, a powerful finish to the second quarter saw the Blues open up a healthy lead and never look back in the 24.13 (157) to 3.17 (35) win.
It was a true team performance from the Blues with contributors across every line, seeing them record their fourth consecutive win.
Casey opened the scoring after Carlton missed a couple of early opportunities, but the Blues quickly settled into the contest. Campbell Chesser burst from a clearance before finding Wade Derksen, who took a strong contested mark and kicked Carlton’s first goal of the afternoon.

Carlton then finished the half in devastating fashion. Ben Camporeale burst through traffic for a classy major before Blake Acres launched a long-range torpedo, as the Blues piled on five unanswered goals to head into half time with a commanding 40-point lead.
Carlton carried its momentum into the third quarter with another polished display.
Byrne set up Acres for his second goal of the afternoon following a smooth transition from defensive 50, before Hudson O’Keeffe produced a brilliant chase-down tackle which resulted in Jack Sammartino kicking his first goal in Navy Blue.
Derksen continued his dominant afternoon with his third goal before another slick chain from defence ended with Moir kicking his second. Jack Ison was also influential throughout the term, snapping a classy banana finish for his second goal after intercepting the football inside 50.
Although Casey managed a late goal after the siren, the Blues still held a massive 65-point advantage at the final break.
