THE Carlton Football Club today launched its second Innovate Reconciliation Action Plan during a ceremony at Ikon Park.

The AFL & AFLW playing groups, as well as all staff, were in attendance as the Blues affirmed their commitment to reconciliation both internally and in the communities in which the Club operates.

This RAP, the second in Carlton’s history, has been developed to provide direction and practical guidance to the Club as it continues to build its knowledge, respect and relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and cultures.

The Club is proud to acknowledge and celebrate the strong contributions Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander staff and players have made to Carlton, both past and present.

It is important to further strengthen Carlton’s relationships with communities as well as creating opportunities that assist Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander success.

Carlton CEO Cain Liddle said the Club was proud to launch its second Reconciliation Action Plan.

“The RAP program provides a framework for organisations to support the national reconciliation movement with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and we’re proud to be key contributors of this movement,” Liddle said.

“The Club developed the ‘Reflect’ RAP in 2015 and completed the action plan by 2017. This assisted in creating strong relationships with non-profits and individuals to assist Carlton Football Club in the formation of its Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander strategies.

“The ‘Innovate’ stage is now the next step for the Club and includes a series of actions that as a Club, we have committed to delivering.”
