FOUR Carlton players have been acknowledged for their outstanding seasons with selection in the 2019 Virgin Australia AFL Women’s All-Australian squad.

Brianna Davey, Kerryn Harrington, Gab Pound and Madison Prespakis were all named by the AFL last night as being in the squad of 40.

The team of 21 players, including a captain and vice-captain, will be announced at the W awards on Tuesday 2 April.

Davey’s story is one of resilience and persistence, with Carlton’s captain returning from last year’s injury heartbreak to enjoy an outstanding season. She was a key factor in Carlton’s rise in form, averaging 18 disposals since Round 3 and providing a presence in the middle.

Harrington and Pound have been two of the good news stories for Carlton, producing consistent performances week-by-week. Their ability to not only prevent the opposition scoring but give the Blues some drive from the back-half has seen them grow a formidable partnership.

Prespakis is one of four first-year players named in the team, and the Rising Star favourite couldn’t have been more impressive in year one. The young midfield gun has settled in with aplomb, averaging 20 disposals over the course of the season.
