CARLTON midfielder Amelia Mullane has made the decision to retire from AFLW.

Mullane joined the club from Collingwood for AFLW 3.0 and played all nine matches including the Club’s maiden AFLW Grand Final.

The strong-bodied inside midfielder was renowned for her defensive pressure during her time in the Navy Blue, averaging more than five tackles per match.

The Club can also confirm that Tilly Lucas-Rodd and Courtney Webb will not have their contracts renewed.

Lucas-Rodd was recruited from the St Kilda Sharks with pick No.99 back in the Club’s inaugural season and went on to play 19 matches for the Blues.

During that time, the pacey midfielder featured in the Club’s 2019 AFLW Grand Final, whilst also being nominated for the 2017 NAB AFLW Rising Star award.

Webb joined the Club with the 17th pick in the 2017 AFLW rookie draft after a successful under-18 carnival with the Allies.

Senior coach Daniel Harford thanked the trio for their contribution to Carlton.

“Amelia, Tilly and Courtney have all brought unique qualities to our football club and we thank them for giving their all for their respective times with us,” Harford said.

“We wish them the very best for the future.”
