ON SATURDAY night, 35,000 Bluebaggers’ pulled up their socks at the fourth AFL Carlton Respects game to promote gender equality for the prevention of violence against women.

In 2018, 69 women lost their lives at the hands of their current or former partner.

Marvel Stadium switched the lights off as 69 people surrounded the centre square with orange lights and to crowd stood silent for 69 seconds to pay tribute to the lives lost.
