FIVE out of 40.

A quintet of Carlton’s brightest young talents have been named in the initial AFL Players’ 22under22 squad.

Alongside Brisbane, five nominations means the Blues have the equal-most amount of players featuring in the 40-man squad across the competition.

The five which have received the nod are Zac Fisher, Harry McKay, Sam Petrevski-Seton, Sam Walsh and Jacob Weitering.

Fisher, Petrevski-Seton and Walsh are eligible to be selected as midfielders, while Weitering can be selected in defence.

McKay is the sole Blue who can be selected in multiple positions, as either a forward or a ruck.

Weitering is looking to become Carlton’s third player with two selections in the 22under22 side, having been selected in 2016.

The other two are Patrick Cripps (2015, 2016) and Charlie Curnow (2017, 2018). Sam Docherty was only selected back in 2016.
