A DOUBLE century for a Blue that’s left an immediate impression.

When Carlton runs out on Saturday night against Richmond, Ollie Florent will feature in his 200th AFL game.

Starting a new chapter in 2026, Florent played his first 184 AFL games for the Sydney Swans, before a trade on Deadline Day last year saw him become a Blue.

Making an impact from the moment he walked through the doors of his new club, Florent has quickly established himself as an ever-present member of the Blues’ backline, as well as a key player from a cultural perspective behind the scenes.

Drafted from the Sandringham Dragons, Florent was a first-round selection to the Swans a decade ago, making his debut in Round 1 of the 2017 campaign in the red and white - a week before the respective first games of Will Hayward and Nic Newman.

Now reunited in Navy Blue alongside Hayward, Newman and George Hewett, Florent’s consistency has been a key feature of his game, having taken to Carlton life immediately.

Speaking to media on Thursday morning, Interim Coach Josh Fraser hailed Florent’s impact both on and off the field.

“He’s been huge. He has his calm presence, good leadership and experience, playing a really important role for us at half-back,” Fraser said.

“He fits in really well with the group and he’s really added to our culture, as well as Will Hayward and Benny Ainsworth.

“For Ollie to be playing 200 games, it’s a great achievement and I’m happy he’s doing it in a Carlton jumper.”
