Thursday, Friday, Saturday or Sunday: variety is the theme for Navy Blue members and fans as the AFL released the 2027 fixture today.

The Blues will launch into the first half of next year with a blockbuster run of four MCG games in five weeks between Round 5 and Round 9 (Collingwood, Hawthorn, Geelong and the Western Bulldogs), before Essendon in the annual King’s Birthday Eve clash in Round 13.

With home games spread evenly across the year (six at the MCG, five at Marvel Stadium), the Blues will also meet both 2026 Grand Finalists Brisbane (Round 3) and Fremantle (Round 11) at Marvel Stadium.

This run of huge home games is poised to see the Carlton faithful be a competitive advantage once again, following a year in which the Club achieved an average home attendance of 53,057 in 2026 - the second highest in the competition.

Coming off an exciting end to the 2026 season, the Blues have been rewarded with early season prime time slots, with five of the first eight games on a Thursday or Friday. Carlton will once again take on North Melbourne in the Good Friday SuperClash which has averaged a crowd of over 47,000 since the Blues have been involved in 2023.

As announced earlier this week, Carlton and Richmond will meet in Round 1, this time with the traditional rivals playing at the new timeslot of 12:35pm on Saturday 20 March.

Broadcast partners Channel Seven will feature nine of the first 16 games on free-to-air, with Fox Footy to show every match live throughout the home-and-away season.

Bluebaggers outside of Victoria will get a chance to watch their beloved team with six interstate games, including two in South Australia in the first six rounds. Carlton heads to Darwin for just the third time in its history to face Gold Coast in Round 10, in its first game at TIO Stadium since a 33-point win in Round 13, 2020.

The Club will also travel to Perth to face West Coast in Round 12, and to Sydney on two occasions, taking on GWS in Round 17 at ENGIE Stadium and the Swans in Round 22 at the SCG.

Geelong will be the only top six side from last season the Blues play twice, which includes a return to GMHBA Stadium for the first time since Round 3, 2020, while other return matchups come against North Melbourne, Collingwood, GWS, Melbourne and Port Adelaide.

Carlton CEO Graham Wright said the fixture provides a variety of days and timeslots across the season that will suit a broad range of the Carlton community.

“Carlton people continue to create an atmosphere on any occasion, and the 2027 fixture reflects that. It’s a schedule that recognises the impact our supporters bring, earning us some of the most exciting matches of the year,” Wright said.

“The variety of timeslots from Thursday night through to Sunday evening means a wide range of our members can get to games alongside friends, family, and fellow Bluebaggers.

“Carlton people span the country, and this fixture gives us the chance to share game day across four states and territories, providing our interstate supporters the chance to see their team live, which is fantastic.

“The Carlton family has never been short on passion, and with a series of massive home games ahead, we’re looking forward to the impact our fans will have, playing their part and in sync with the exciting brand of football we want to deliver on-field.”
