The Blues will be eager to prove they have turned a corner by going back-to-back against the Western Bulldogs.

With the victory over the Lions still front of mind, the Blues’ performance against the Bulldogs in Round 5 will also give Carlton confidence.

On the other side, the Bulldogs will be desperate to steal the win after two consecutive losses to West Coast and North Melbourne.

Historically, the Blues have an impressive record over the Bulldogs with 33 more wins over the opposition head-to-head. Carlton ended a five-game losing streak over the Dogs with a 44-point triumph back in April.

In the Round 5, Carlton stamped its first win of the season with a dominant performance through the centre from the likes of Patrick Cripps and Sam Petrevski-Seton.

Similarly, the Blues will be calling on a defensive group containing Caleb Marchbank, Lachie Plowman and Jacob Weitering to shut the Dogs out.

Fresh off his meticulous tagging performance on Lachie Neale, Blues fans will be keen to see more of the same from Ed Curnow in Saturday’s clash.

With the likes of Tom Liberatore waiting for him on the other side, it’s promising to be a fierce contest from the opening bounce.
