“IT was unreal.”

Sam Petrevski-Seton enjoyed his first win in his home state, and what a way to finish it.

With both of their co-captains injured and book-ends Harry McKay and Charlie Curnow out of action, Carlton recorded a famous win in the west with a four-point victory.

In the absence of some of their prime movers, it was left to the Blues’ younger brigade to stand up — and stand up they did.

Petrevski-Seton was particularly influential, recording 23 disposals and kicking a goal in what is shaping up to be a career-best season.

“For the boys to come away, especially in an away game… To get the job done in the last second and for ‘Murph’ to kick that goal is unbelievable,” Petrevski-Seton said post-match.

“Right now, the boys are enjoying the win, enjoying this winning feeling and definitely trying to make it a habit in the future.”

It was the second time in three games where the comeback Blues returned from the brink to record a victory.

The hero proved to be Marc Murphy, whose 34-disposal performance was capped off with the classiest of snaps to seal a Carlton win.

And while Bluebaggers around the country rejoiced, Petrevski-Seton had one of the best seats in the house.

“I was waiting about 10 metres off that contest,” he said.

“I thought ‘Murph’ was going to get tackled for a bit, but he sold the candy and put it through the big sticks.

“It was unbelievable to get that job done in the last 30 seconds. It was a really good effort.”

It was the case of third time lucky for the returning Halls Creek Cowboy, recording his first win in his home state since arriving at Carlton at the end of 2016.

Crediting the influence of the senior coach with his teammates’ ability to get the game back on the Blues’ terms, Petrevski-Seton was full of praise in familiar territory.

“I’ve got family here at the game today — to play in front of them again for the first time this year was a good feeling,” he said.

“It was unbelievable for the boys to come over here and get the win.”
