CARLTON assistant coach Cameron Bruce is looking forward to a strong response from his side on Saturday.

The Blues have been competitive in most games this season, and they’ll be buoyed by a chance at redemption against rival Collingwood at the MCG this weekend.

Speaking to 3AW on Thursday night, Bruce highlighted the importance of not repeating a slow start against the Magpies – something which cost them against North Melbourne last week.

“We will be looking to start well against Collingwood, and really take it up to them.” Bruce said.

“We are well aware that we need to continue to improve and get better.

“This game against the Pies can’t come quick enough.”

Bruce believes Carlton’s young list is developing to a point where they can return the Club back to where it belongs.

He said that responsibility does not fall on just the playing group.

“It’s a whole club thing,” he said.

“We certainly believe that we should have won more games, and it’s important to have that belief.

“We are all in this together.”

The Blues will welcome some key additions to its line-up this week, with Matthew Kreuzer to return from the adductor injury which saw him ruled out last weekend.

Recruits Mitch McGovern and Will Setterfield are also important additions to the team in what is a key opportunity for the young side to continue to jell.

“What we are most interested in is getting this group of players playing together and having a stable, predictable line-up,” Bruce said.

“The list is in a really good place to grow, develop and be a real force going forward,

“If we can keep this group playing together, the results will come.”
