The Blues will be eager to prove against a Lions team excited by the prospect of playing finals football.

A second win has eluded them to date, but it will no doubt be an intense battle as the Blues seek to usher in caretaker coach David Teague with a victory.

On the other side, Brisbane will take confidence into the clash with the opportunity to break into the top four should they steal the four points.

Only three games separate these two sides in the win-loss stakes, with the Blues trailing 15 to 18 wins over their history. Having won five of the last six clashes at Marvel Stadium, the Blues’ home ground advantage is sure to come into play.

It will be a game won and lost in the midfield, with both sides proving strong in the clearance stakes over recent weeks.

Supporters can expect an intense battle of two wise heads in the centre bounce, with veteran ruck Matthew Kreuzer going up against the experienced Stefan Martin.

The ruck work will prove integral in giving each side an advantage around stoppages given both teams boast a young talented midfield.
