ALMOST 20 years after the MCG’s scoreboard famously started billowing smoke, Carlton will be hoping to set it alight again – signing Barkly Smokehouse as an official goal partner.

Every time the Blues kick a goal, whether it’s from a set-shot, a snap around the corner or a long bomb on the run, Barkly Smokehouse will feature on the big screen’s goal animation.

The local family-run business is well known for its Grandmother Ham, as well as traditionally made sausages, presswurst, kranski and leberkasse, which are all smoked over specially selected German beech.

The Blues have signed Barkly Smokehouse as their goal partner.

“We’re delighted to be partnering with the Carlton Football Club this year. Barkly Smokehouse has been in operation for over 50 years and we are very proud of our award-winning Grandmother ham," CEO Barkly Smokehouse Carl Greco said.

“With such a large and dedicated supporter base, we hope Blues fans become familiar with our products, as we sell them into most delicatessens and independents supermarkets around Melbourne."
