CARLTON COMMUNITY ON FACEBOOK
Earlier this year, the Club developed "New Blue" - a Facebook page which aims to educate first-time followers not only about the Blues, but AFL in general. As part of this project, we embarked on an audacious campaign to recruit “New Blue” bloggers of various racial and cultural backgrounds to engage those who might be new to the game, including;
· newly-arrived migrants;
· ESL (English Second Language) students at primary, secondary and tertiary level; and
· all who boast links with this city’s multi-layered multicultural community

The bloggers bring a unique new perspective to the way one of the game’s oldest and grandest sporting institutions is portrayed. They uniquely contribute to a page crammed with special features, including a detailed history of the Carlton Football Club through a timeline; a dedicated tab where members can learn more about the club’s players; a host of giveaways throughout the year; and a noticeboard enabling community groups to promote events throughout the year.
