Carlton’s Director of Development & Coaching Rob Wiley has informed the club today that he will return home to Perth to take up a new job opportunity for season 2016.

Wiley joined Carlton in late 2012 and worked closely with both Mick Malthouse and John Barker during his tenure at the Blues.

A veteran of 292 WANFL/VFL games, an eight-time Perth club Best & Fairest winner, a former assistant coach at West Coast and was this year inducted into the Perth Football Club Hall of Fame as a Legend.

Wiley has thanked the Club for his tenure:

“I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at Carlton, although we didn’t achieve the on-field success we all yearn for, I know the foundations are strong and they will continue to build towards success.”

Head of Football Andrew McKay said Wiley always put Club first:

“Rob epitomises the definition of a good football person and his contribution to Carlton has been first class across the club. We wish him well on his return home to Western Australia.”

Carlton’s Coaching and High Performance appointments for 2016 will be announced in due course.
