WITH pre-season in full swing ahead of AFLW 4.0, Carlton’s campaign looks littered with big game highlights when the season kicks off in February.

The fixture set and four new teams gearing up for their first taste of AFLW success, here are the matches you can’t afford to miss in 2020.

Round 1 v Richmond | Ikon Park | Friday 7 February, 7:40pm

A long-held tradition in the men’s competition, the AFLW Blues will run out under Friday night lights to face Richmond in Round 1 to open the 2020 season.

Despite being the Tigers’ home game, the Blues should have the upper hand with the historic match played on home soil at Ikon Park.

Bluebaggers won’t want to miss this historic match-up as we get out first glimpse of new side Richmond in action.

Round 4 v Adelaide | Richmond Oval | Sunday 1 March, 12:40pm

When the AFLW fixture was released there would have been plenty of Blues who pencilled the Round 4 clash in.

It will be a grudge match as Carlton face the reigning premiers at Richmond Oval in a Grand Final rematch.

The Blues will be looking to prove themselves against the Crows and get one back over the side that snatched the cup in 2019.

Round 6 v Melbourne | Traeger Park | Saturday 14 March, 6:10pm

Carlton will take its campaign to the red centre in Round 6 when they face Melbourne at Traeger Park in Alice Springs.

It will be the Blues’ first ever match for premiership points at the ground, a perfect setting for what is set to be season-defining clash late in their campaign.

Round 8 v Fremantle | Marvel Stadium | Saturday 28 March, 1:10pm

For the first-time in the AFLW Blues’ short history, fans will able to watch the AFLW and AFL action back-to-back.

Carlton will face Fremantle in a preliminary final rematch on the main stage at Marvel Stadium in the final game of the home and away season.

The girls will be looking to finish the season strongly before the men’s clash with the Western Bulldogs kicks off at 4:25pm.
