The Carlton Football Club is delighted to announce the appointment of Brett Munro as the Club’s Women’s Football List Manager.

Munro returns to Ikon Park following stints as the Club’s part-time opposition analyst (2000–2007) and opposition coach (2008–2011).

He brings a wealth of knowledge and experience back to the Blues, after completing roles with the AFL as Umpiring and Game Analysis Lead, chairperson of the 2020 AFLW Steering Committee and Opposition Coach at the Gold Coast Suns (2011–2018).

Carlton GM of Women’s Football Ash Brown was thrilled to welcome Munro to the Club.

“Brett’s knowledge and experience will be hugely beneficial to our AFLW and VFLW programs,” Brown said.

“It’s great to have Brett back at Ikon Park playing a key role in supporting our women’s football programs having served as part of the AFL football department from 2000–2011.

“We were able to reach the Grand Final last year with a strong list and we hope to keep developing further in 2020 and beyond, where Brett will play a crucial role.

“With Brett’s appointment our women’s recruiting team will now sit in the recruiting hub with the men’s recruiting team, providing another great opportunity for integration between our men’s and women’s programs.”

Munro said he was excited to be returning to Carlton and is keen to get started in his new role.

“I really enjoyed my time at Ikon Park so it’s great to be able to return in a new role,” Munro said.

“I’ve been really impressed by the improvement of the Club’s AFLW and VFLW programs and I’m looking forward to helping continue that development.

“With 21 players re-committing in the 2019 off-season, it is clear the foundations have been laid for sustained success at the Club.”
