CARLTON has trimmed down its squad for the upcoming Marsh Community Series game.

The Blues will be bolstered by the experience of Marc Murphy and Lachie Plowman, who - after missing last week's trip to Mandurah with soreness - have been named on the eight-man bench.

Sunday's hosts could also welcome the return of Sam Petrevski-Seton, who is on the comeback trail from a leg injury.

They will join Eddie Betts, Patrick Cripps, Caleb Marchbank and Mitch McGovern, who were named as inclusions in yesterday's squad announcement.

It means that Betts, Murphy and Kade Simpson will be reunited in the Navy Blue for the first time in seven years, while Cripps and Sam Docherty will lead the side as co-captains together in an official hitout.

The Northern Blues will take on Brisbane's NEAFL team on Sunday. Due to Marsh Community Series regulations, the game will be played behind closed doors and not open to the public.
