The Carlton Football Club is delighted to announce the signing of Callum Moore as a rookie for the 2020 AFL season.

Moore was informed of the news on Tuesday, joining the Club as part of the supplemental selection period.

The 23-year-old will get his chance in the Navy Blue after impressing at Ikon Park as a train-on player.

A 193cm marking forward who can play a number of roles, Moore’s main assets are his pace and his prowess overhead.

Previously at Richmond, he played eight games in four seasons for the Tigers, producing his best performance for the Dreamtime at the ‘G clash with Essendon in 2018.

Under the likes of Tom Lynch and Jack Riewoldt at Punt Road, Moore consistently put his hand up for AFL selection, kicking 56 goals from 40 VFL games across three seasons.

Now a Blue, Moore will add a new dynamic to a Carlton forward line which added recruits Eddie Betts and Jack Martin over the off-season.

Head of List Management Nick Austin said the Club was excited to add Moore’s natural talent to the fold.

“Callum has done everything he could ever since being invited to train with the playing group: we’re delighted to add him to our football club,” Austin said.

“He’s a really impressive athlete and has shown that he’s a difficult match-up for opposition defenders. We think he’s going to add a new element to our group with his size and speed.

“Callum has been one of the best forwards in the VFL for a long period of time and we believe he’s an AFL talent.

“He has fit in well amongst the playing group and he has earned his spot. We’re looking forward to seeing what he has to offer in the Navy Blue.”

Under the rules of the supplemental selection period, clubs with an open list spot are able to sign players until Friday 13 March.

Having trained with the Club over the course of the summer, Lukas Webb has signed on to play with the Northern Blues for the 2020 season.
