PATRICK Cripps is hoping to make many more memories in Navy Blue.

Of course, the co-captain is already well on his way, having won three John Nicholls Medals from his 102 Carlton games.

Looking to achieve team success in the near future, Cripps - speaking on the Blues Banter podcast - outlined his top three footballing memories while at Carlton.

This is what he had to say.

Round 8, 2016 v Port Adelaide

“One of the best memories was against Port Adelaide, 2016 it was. It was Michael Jamison’s 150th, which was the last game he played, and ‘Simmo’s’ 250th. We’d won three in a row. It was unreal.

“Milestone games, you want to win for guys, especially when they’ve played that many games and they’re both absolute legends. We were down by 15 points with five minutes to go and we kicked three late.

“‘Kreuz’ kicked this snap with only a minute to go. There were only 30,000 at [Marvel] and it was nearly the loudest I’ve ever heard a game. We end up winning and I still remember ‘Simmo’ had all the boys jumping on him on the wing. That was a cool moment.”

Round 15, 2019 v Fremantle

“The other one was actually the Fremantle game last year, it was awesome in Perth. I didn’t play that one, I was in the box.

“I remember sitting next to ‘Lloydy’ [Head of Football Brad Lloyd] all game and I was chewing down raspberry bullets all game, I was that nervous. I hate watching, I get way more nervous watching than I do playing.

“When ‘Murph’ kicked that goal and we were away from home… I think Charlie was injured, ‘H’ [Harry McKay] didn’t play, ‘Doc’ was also out. No-one really gave us a chance over there and then ‘Murph’ kicked an absolute snag. That was unreal. Ed captained that game too, so it was awesome for Ed.

Round 22, 2019 v St Kilda

“The other awesome memory was the St Kilda game last year. That was my 100th game but it was more the crowd that day. I still remember, there were 55,000 and it was ‘Teaguey’s’ first game in charge when he got the gig.

“We got up… when ‘Daisy’ sold candy in the last quarter, I knew we’d won and the whole crowd was standing up and going absolutely crazy. That was pretty cool. They’re three memories that stand out.”
