Carlton’s Matthew Watson has been nominated for the AFL’s Hungry Jack’s Goal of the Year.

Watson has been nominated for a goal from the boundary in the dying seconds of the first quarter against Essendon.

It came after Ed Curnow picked up the lose ball inside Carlton’s 50 metre mark, before handballing to Watson who kicked for goal from a tight angle.

The Blues’ No. 10 went on to finish the match with a four-goal haul.

AFL fans have the chance to vote for their favorite mark and goal each week to go in the running for the weekly cash prize of $200 and the major cash prize of $5000 at the end of the season.
