Swingman Lachie Henderson will be available for selection for Carlton's season opener against Port Adelaide this weekend.

Henderson made his return from injury in a VFL practice match between the Northern Blues and Footscray on Friday.

The 24-year-old finished with three goals.

Meanwhile Carlton's GM – Football Operations Andrew McKay says while Chris Judd will miss Round 1, he could be back sooner than expected.

"Chris is going well," McKay said. "He's progressing nicely – initially we said Round 3, but there's a good chance he may be back before that.

"We'll just see how he progresses over the next couple of weeks,  but he's probably a little bit ahead of schedule."

Andrew Carrazzo and Sam Docherty remain on track to return in Round 2, the Club taking a conservative approach with Carrazzo who has a calf injury.

Injury list
Carrazzo (Calf): 2 weeks
Docherty (Knee): 2 weeks
Judd (Achilles): 3 weeks
