Carlton Football Club's General Manager of Football Operations, Andrew McKay, says that reaching 50,000 members is a fantastic achievement for the Club, and they hope that this number continues to increase.

"We want to get more and more people on board to sign up and become members. It was certainly a good achievement, something we can set a good foundation for and go further."

With Lachie Henderson's versatility in being able to play at both ends of the field, McKay says that it's a good problem to have.

"He is certainly a smart footballer. He's fantastic for us back and he knows where to run up forward. It really depends on who we play, the opposition and who he needs to man-up on. If we need an extra down back, then certainly he will take that spot. But if we need some more fire-power up-forward, then we'll call on him to do that as well."

When asked about reviewing Carlton's playing list at the of the each season, McKay says that it's something every AFL Club has to do.

"We think we have a reasonable list, but we can always improve it. So we'll certainly be looking to the draft. if we can get a few things going our way, then we'll try and improve it through the trade table as well."

Reflecting on the season so far, McKay says that Mick Malthouse continues to spread his positivity both on and off their field.

"Mick comes with great experience – he has been in a footy for a long time. With experience comes a wealth of knowledge and the respect too.  The players know exactly where they stand with him."

"People have been saying that we haven't improved our spot on the ladder this year. We feel that internally we have improved in a lot of areas. And off the field he creates a really positive vibe and brings professionalism as well. He's been a great acquisition for us."
