CARLTON 331-game stalwart Kade Simpson is already casting his eye forward to game No.332.

And it’s a significant test for the up-and-coming Blues, with ladder-leading Port Adelaide to come on Sunday.

Simpson was quick to look ahead when speaking on Triple M’s Hot Breakfast on Tuesday morning.

“It’s a massive test for us, all year they’ve been a benchmark,” Simpson said.

“I feel they’re playing some real attacking football, so it’s a huge challenge for us but something we’re really looking forward to.”

A Round 7 top-of-the-table scalp would cap off a perfect start for the Blues up north, just over a week into their hub tenancy on the Gold Coast.

Fresh off a 52-point victory over the Western Bulldogs, Simpson is enjoying the positivity around the Blues after their third win of 2020.

“It’s great obviously, everyone’s been missing their footy,” he said.

“When your team plays well, performs well, gets a good win and everyone’s up and about it makes the whole week a lot better.

“It’s nice to hear. Obviously up here, it’s not as spoken about as it is in Melbourne, but it’s nice to hear that everyone’s up and about.”

For Simpson, the move up north has meant more time on Facetime - with his wife and groodle - and bonding with the young group.

“The hardest thing about the hub is that we’ve left loved ones back in Melbourne, and it’s obviously pretty tough back in Victoria at the moment,” he said.

“So, it’s just FaceTime for me, whenever I can and whenever I have time.”

PlayStation and X-Box are the pastimes of choice for many of the Blues during hub downtime, which is something the elder Blue statesman isn’t overly keen on.

“We’ve got like a FIFA tournament going on: I forfeited last night because I was absolutely no good at that sort of stuff,” he said.

“I haven’t played PlayStation for about 10 years.”
