Carlton defender Lachie Henderson has been ruled out of tomorrow night’s clash against the Hawks suffering from groin soreness.

After a light week on the training track, Henderson did not train with the team at Visy Park this morning, Carlton’s Football Manager Andrew McKay said Lachie was ruled out for selection.

“We were pretty hopeful that he would pull up OK after training yesterday, but unfortunately it is not 100% so there is no point in risking him,” he said.

“He will benefit from the time off and expect him to push for selection next week.”

Shaun Hampson returns to the team after being a late withdrawal with a minor back injury for Carlton’s round 12 match against West Coast in Perth and first year player Josh Bootsma has been recalled to the team replacing Andrew Collins who has been omitted.

Chris Judd will play in his 100th match for the Carlton Football Club, after joining the Blues in Round 1, 2008. It will also be Judd’s 100th game as captain for the Blues and he will become only the fourth person to captain Carlton in 100 games, joining John Nicholls, Stephen Kernahan and Craig Bradley.

The most valuable player tomorrow night will be awarded the David Parkin Medal, named in honour of David Parkin who is a Life Member of both clubs. The recipient, as selected by David, will display the following qualities - leadership, presence, team values, performance in a team role and influence on the outcome of the game.

The most valuable player will be presented with the medal in his team’s dressing room after the game.
