“Every year I purchase a ticket in the Carlton fundraising raffles and I have never before won a prize but this certainly makes up for it,” Terry said as Chris Judd presented him with his cheque.
Terry said he purchased two tickets in the Scratch & Win promotion and when he told Helen he had bought the second ticket she wanted to know why I would do that.
“Not sure which ticket was the winner but I hope it was the second one I purchased because that way I can honestly say to Helen the second ticket was a great investment,” Terry said with a smile.
Terry has been a member of the Carlton Football Club since 1965 and he decided to take the $35,000 cash as the prize rather than the Hyundai i30CW.
“I appreciate having the choice and I know the Hyundai is a great car but I have only recently purchased a new vehicle and so it is more appropriate for me to take the money and Helen and I can then decide what we do with it.
“I want to thank the Carlton Football Club and Hyundai for the promotion and hope my good fortune rubs off on the Blues over the next few years,” Terry added.
