Carlton Announces New Partnership
The Carlton Football Club has entered into a partnership with Tourism Malaysia that will see Malaysia as the joint major sponsor of Carlton in 2009.
The Carlton Football Club has entered into a partnership with Tourism Malaysia that will see Malaysia as the joint major sponsor of Carlton in 2009.
Carlton CEO, Mr Greg Swann, said the association with Malaysia was an exciting development for the Carlton Football Club.
“We are delighted with our new association with Tourism Malaysia in what is an exciting partnership for both Carlton and Malaysia. We look forward to playing an important role in building the Malaysian Tourism market in Australia,” Swann said.
“This is a significant commitment by Carlton and Malaysia, an exciting new partnership that is a ground-breaking venture in AFL. The benefit of our association will be extended through the promotion of the Carlton Football Club and AFL in Malaysia.”
Malaysia – Truly Asia branding will feature on the front of the Carlton guernsey for away games and on the back for home games.
Optus, joint major sponsor of Carlton in 2008 and a long-term sponsor of the Club will continue as a key partner in 2009.
“Optus and Carlton have enjoyed a wonderful relationship since late 1993 and we are delighted our association will continue with Optus once again being a key partner of the Carlton Football Club,” said Greg Swann.
Optus was the original naming rights sponsor for the Carlton venue and in more recent years as a joint major sponsor of Carlton. In 2009 the Optus branding will feature on the shorts for all Carlton matches and training sessions. Visy who featured on the Carlton shorts in 2008 will continue their involvement with Carlton as the Club’s environmental partner and venue sponsor (Visy Park).
“This is a wonderful outcome for Carlton, introducing a new corporate partnership with Malaysia, while being in a position to retain long-term key partners Optus and Visy and continuing our joint major sponsorship with Hyundai.
Together with the six-year extension of our agreement with performance partner Nike it underpins our key sponsorships going forward,” said Swann.
