CARLTON skipper Patrick Cripps is hoping to entertain the fans in Perth with a strong Western Australian contingent on Friday night.

The Blues will run out at Optus Stadium to face the Hawks for their first game of the Perth leg of their hub tenure.

Cripps is hoping the Blues’ five Western Australian representatives will reunite for the homecoming, with Zac Fisher pushing for selection to run out alongside Sam Petrevski-Seton, Jack Martin and Mitch McGovern.

“We’re pumped, all of the WA boys: there’s me, ‘Fish’, Samo, Jacky Martin and ‘Gov’. We’ve been pumping up WA, how good the weather is and obviously the crowds now,” Cripps said.

“To have 30,000 allowed in the stadium has us pretty pumped, I know there’s a lot of Bluebaggers over in the West. I can’t wait to play in front of them.”

But the reunion will depend on the fitness of two fellow Blues, as Carlton heads into the clash with both teams coming off the back of six-day breaks.

“I know ‘Gov’ is a bit sore and ‘Fish’ is pressing for selection, but it’d be awesome if all five of us could play in a couple of games over here and put on a bit of a show in front of our family and friends,” he said.

“We’re all excited and we’re going to lap up the time we have here, even though two weeks is in quarantine. I’m sure once that two weeks is up, we’ll be trying to see family and friends and get some wins over here.”

With Blues hitting form in front of fans for the first time in 2020, the Bluebaggers at home are never far from the co-captain’s mind.

Although the Victorian Bluebaggers can’t be in stands, Cripps had a clear message for the faithful back home.

“To Carlton fans and footy fans in general, we’re doing our best to put on a show and keep you guys smiling back home,” he said.

“Especially Carlton fans have been through a lot over the last few years… really soak it up, we’re going to try our best to win as many games as possible and enjoy our footy. We hope you guys can see that.”
